Virtual Galleries of SecondLife
April 16, 2008
Three-dimensional online community of SecondLife has contributed to development of virtual art that can only be viewed in a virtual space. SecondLife owes its popularity to the fact that its participants are able to create the virtual world they “live in”. They buy parcels of land, they build their virtual homes, they are involved in trade and naturally they create works of art. During our meeting we had visited virtual galleries that offer reproductions of classical masterpieces, digital art, virtual sculpture, reconstructions of historical sites like Sistine Chapel, and reactive installations that are specific to virtual space of SecondLife.
